New features and enhancements
The new and enhanced features in this release include:
Business Automation Engine: Alert Action
Alert Actions drive powerful business actions by triggering events such as Webhook integration with third-party systems and Domo project and task integration. The possibilities for alert actions are literally endless. Example:
As a retail store manager, you may already have alerts to notify you when a particular product reaches a sales unit threshold. Alert actions extend the functionality of this basic alert by also activating a "sort" action in the inventory system when triggered.
As a sales leader, you can set up alert actions to turn on fanfare and music in the office when closing large deals so that everyone can congratulate together.
As a support manager, you can set up alert actions to automatically create tasks in Domo and assign alerts to designated agents when the number of open bugs exceeds a certain number.
Domo currently has two types of alert actions: Webhook and Tasks. Webhook actions allow you to connect to any of a number of third-party systems. Task actions allow you to create a task in a specified project and assign it to a specific person. Configure these actions in the Alert Wizard when you create an alert or edit an existing alert.
See " Creating Alerts on KPI Cards " for more information.
With Domo's new navigation, you can easily organize and manage pages from a few pages to hundreds of pages, making it easier to find them. In addition, all frequently used Domo functions can now be moved with fewer clicks, so the time it takes to perform an action with Domo and get an answer is shorter. For more information, see this demo video .
The updated navigation will be available to all customers with the October release. This is a major change, so the old navigation structure will not be replaced by the new navigation structure until March 2020. Until then, all customers had to go to Admin Settings, select Company Settings> Feature Controls, and select the "Enable updated navigation for all users" option, You have the option to turn on the new navigation (you need administrator security privileges to do this). In this way, organizations have the freedom to make the transition whenever they are ready. Level 3 and favorite pages are only supported in the updated navigation, so if you switch from the new navigation to the old navigation, these pages will not be displayed in the UI.
Check out the highlight list of the most notable improvements below.
The page menu has moved to the scrollable Dashboard list on the left side of the screen. This list is collapsible and gives you more space for important dashboard content. If necessary, you can display the list in a collapsed state. You can also search within the list, and type to quickly filter the list of pages.
Also, shortcuts to important Domo functions are displayed at the top of the screen for faster access.
Level 3 pages
A level has been added to the page hierarchy, allowing you to create subpages of subpages. More options for organizing pages and displaying related information.
Pages can now be marked as "favorites", making it easier to access important Domo content. In the pages of the spanner menu Add to Favorites When you select the option, you can add any page as a "favorite" page.
Once a page has been added to your favorites, you can easily move it by clicking on "Favorites" at the top of the page list and selecting the desired page.
See " New Navigation Announcements " for more information.
Streaming MP4 video with Doc Cards
Stream your MP4 video with Doc Card to give your viewers a clear picture. These videos can be viewed from the page level (supports both standard pages and Domo stories) or from the Doc Card detail view. You can choose a custom image for the video thumbnail or let Domo choose a default thumbnail.
Videos can be viewed on both the web and mobile versions of Domo. Currently only MP4 video is supported (AVI, WMV, QuickTime, etc. are not supported). If the video is not an MP4 file, the video will not be streamed. Only file icons are displayed. The video file size limit is 1GB. The limit for custom thumbnail images is 10MB.
See " Adding Cards to Domo " for more information.
No-code JSON connector
Use the no-code JSON connector to connect custom data to Domo without writing any code.
Until now, you had to ask Domo representatives to build custom connectors to bring custom data into Domo, or create connections using the code-intensive options API or Connector IDE. Now you can capture custom data simply by following a simple wizard interface procedure. The wizard allows you to connect to your data as a JSON file and easily import it into Domo.
To use this tool, you need:
Client ID and client secret from developer.domo.com
Authentication URL and access token URL from the data provider
URL to access the JSON file
Search for "No Code JSON OAuth Connector" in the Appstore to access the interface for this connector.
See No-Code JSON Connector for more information.
DomoStats DataSet and DataFlow
The ever-increasing functionality of the DataSets and DataFlows apps includes a state-of-the-art dashboard that allows admin users to:
Quickly clean up Domo by seeing which DataSets and DataFlows need attention, whether they're orphaned or duplicates, and choosing a direct link to take immediate action.
Understand which DataSets and DataFlows need to be modified with cards that indicate where attention is needed based on the number of cards, owners, etc.
Keep Domo secure by monitoring who creates data and which data is sent to Domo.
To try this app, simply search for "DomoStats" in the Appstore, select the DomoStats DataSet and DomoStats DataFlow apps, and click [ Try ]. To deploy the DomoStats app to Domo, you need "admin" level security permissions.
See DomoStats-DataSet and DataFlow (Beta) for more information.
